Academically Rigorous Program
The Academy uses the Core Knowledge Sequence, a challenging, content-rich curriculum that provides key building blocks as students progress year after year. Research shows that students in programs using the Core Knowledge Sequence can meet high academic standards regardless of their socio-economic background.
Since its inception in 2004, Minneapolis Academy has used the Core Knowledge Sequence to guide its efforts toward closing the achievement gap in an urban setting. We base our learning outcomes on the Core Knowledge framework in the following subject areas:
- Mathematics (Saxon Math)
- Life Science / Environment
- Physical and Earth Systems Science
- English including Language Arts and Reading
- History and Geography
- Fine Arts / Music History
- Physical Education / Health Education
