What is Core Knowledge?

Core Knowledge is a nationally recognized academic program that teaches students fundamental content in all academic disciplines, builds student vocabulary and increases student analytical skills.

Core Knowledge offers a planned progression of specific knowledge in history, geography, mathematics, science, language arts and fine arts. It represents the first attempt to state a specific core of shared knowledge that all children should learn in American schools

Core Knowledge is based on the philosophy that the more students know the more they can learn. Scientific research has proven that this philosophy results in dramatic increases in student academic achievement.
