Ms. Ellen Vanden Branden is from Stillwater, Minnesota. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BA in Journalism & Mass Communication and Art History. Ms. Vanden Branden is a 2010 Teach for America –Twin Cities corps member. Ms. Vanden Branden spent teaching and training in Chicago.

She is currently taking class at Hamline University working towards a Masters in Teaching.

Outside of school, Ms. Vanden Branden enjoys going to museums, art projects, and riding her bike. She believes every student is powerful beyond measure.  

 

Philosophy

The Academy's philosophy is not simply that all children can learn, but more importantly that all children will learn. There are no shortcuts to academic success and no excuses for failing to achieve it. Together, students, parents, and teachers will create a culture of achievement and success.

The Academy prepares its graduates to live thoughtful and purposeful lives equipped with the tools to engage successfully in their own "pursuit of happiness," thereby contributing greatly to the good of their communities and their families.
