Mr. Matt Chappuis is the health and physical education teacher here at Minneapolis Academy.

Mr. Chappuis grew up down south in Faribault, MN and went to college at Augsburg College in Minneapolis where he earned his B.A. in health and physical education. He was a four year starter on the football team, two-time Lutheran Brotherhood All-American, three-time All-M.I.A.C. selection, and was awarded Top Lineman in the M.I.A.C. and Top Male Athlete of Augsburg College his senior. He received his Masters in Education from St. Mary’s University, Winona.

Mr. Chappuis has been teaching health and physical education for eight years and has a strong passion for what he does. He believes that being healthy and active is of great importance to a person’s lifespan. Mr. Chappuis says, “It is my job to teach these students everything about how the body works, healthy eating, and being active.”

When Mr. Chappuis is not teaching he spends the majority of his time with his wife, Jen, and his three daughters, Hattie (5), Harper (3), and Hildey (1). He also has two dogs, Suggy and Rusty, a cat named Oreo, and a bearded dragon named Frankie. Mr. Chappuis also enjoys being active, reading to his children, watching movies with his wife, and is an avid Minnesota sports fan (Vikings, Twins, Wild, Gophers).
