Sarah Black
Ms. Sarah Black joined the Academy in 2008. Prior to this, she taught high school Social Studies for two years in New Haven, Connecticut as a Teach For America Corps Member. Sarah grew up in the Twin Cities and is a proud product of Minnesota public education.
She graduated with honors from the University of Minnesota-Morris, with a B.A. in History and Social Science, as well as her 5-12 Secondary Social Studies Education Licensure. While in college, Sarah was involved in student government, served on a variety of academic and campus committees, volunteered as a tutor in the local elementary school, and played intramural volleyball. She completed her student teaching at Patrick Henry High School in Minneapolis.
When not teaching, Sarah loves spending time with her friends and family, going to concerts and museums, camping, hiking, skiing, reading, traveling, cooking, and going to baseball games - GO TWINS!
