Sarah Black
Ms. Sarah Black is excited to be joining Minneapolis Academy as the 6th- 8th grade Social Studies Teacher. Sarah knew at a very young age that she wanted to be a teacher and feels very fortunate to be working with such terrific students and fellow teachers.
Sarah grew up in the Twin Cities and is a proud product of Minnesota public education. She graduated with honors from the University of Minnesota Morris, with a B.A. in History and Social Science, as well as her 5-12 Secondary Social Studies Education Licensure. As an undergraduate, Sarah was involved in student government, served on a variety of academic and campus committees, volunteered as a tutor in the local elementary school, and played intramural volleyball. Sarah spent the last two years as a Teach For America Corps Member in New Haven, Connecticut, teaching high school Social Studies.
Outside of school, Sarah enjoys spending time with her friends and family, going to concerts and the theater, camping, hiking, reading, and going to Minnesota Twins games (GO TWINS!).
