Amy Erickson comes to Minneapolis Academy with nearly 20 years teaching experience in vocal and instrumental music, focused in grades 5 - 12. While the art of performing is a life passion, she truly enjoys exploring the richness, structure and influence that music and music history bring to our daily lives.

A native of the Minneapolis area, she attended Augsburg College in the heart of the city. Amy graduated summa cum laude with a BA in Music Education, BS in Music Therapy and has continuing graduate work in Educational Leadership. Also, Amy is a Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Instrumental Adjudicator; she has judged, coached and participated in a numerous music competitions across Minnesota, the United States and in several European countries. Currently she has approximately 30 private students in woodwinds and piano in addition to teaching at Minneapolis Academy.

When not teaching music, Amy enjoys many outdoor activities, any handcraft project and is often involved in a variety of sports and activities with her own husband and children.
